Agriculture
Bioteq changes the landscape of agriculture
Farmers today are increasingly realising the advantages of using humic substances over synthetic fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture. The effect of the latter has resulted in sterilised soil and the virtual elimination of trace elements. Bioteq’s products are totally natural and contain no toxins.
Bioteq’s approach is to first rehabilitate the soil by re-introducing humic/fulvic substances combined with probiotics and minerals. Humic acid is applied to the soil, while fulvic acid is applied to the roots and foliage.
Thereafter plants are treated with foliage sprays to improve growth (yield) and fight common pests and sicknesses. Humic or fulvic substances also boost plants’ cold, heat and drought resistance.
Further benefits of fulvic and humic acid in agriculture
- Changes non bio-available nutrients into bio-available nutrients and minerals
- Is a chelating agent and a disease suppressant
- Promotes nutrient, macro- and micro-nutrient uptake
- Accelerates seed germination
- Increases crop yields
- Reduces fertilizer requirements and increases yields in most crops.
- Is environmentally safe and beneficial for animals, plants and humans.
- Is water soluble, easy to apply, economical and fast acting
- Facilitates root formation
- Stimulates plant enzymes and hormones
- Improves soil fertility and soil microbial activity
- Suppresses soil and root pathogens
- Suppresses foliar disease, heat stress and frost damage
- Promotes antioxidant activity
- Maintains a sufficient ecological system on the soil and surrounding environment where applied.
Economic Efficiency of Bioteq
In addition to the impact of Fulvic Acid, we also actively promote farming efficiency using technology in two ways:
- The application of drone technology, which provides the farmer with immediate information on the condition of the soil and crops. This real time management information affords him the ability to make timeous, accurate and appropriate decisions necessary to achieve maximum yield.
- Optimisation of operational costs. A better yield makes for a better financial outcome.
Bioteq’s Agricultural Approach
We investigate, evaluate and rehabilitate or grow.
Bioteq reintroduces nature into farming. Firstly, we apply non-toxic and natural treatment solutions to improve soil and plant conditions as well as stimulate crop growth for maximum return. Secondly, we use drone technology which enables us to pinpoint actual needs and application requirements with astonishing accuracy. This technology provides the fastest and most economical option to real time management.
How do we go about it:
- Assess soil condition before planting season starts (drone technology)
- Rectify any soil short comings (rehabilitate or maintain)
- Focus on seed selection, protection, germination and growth.
- Plant
- Monitor health and growth through a program of regular flying using drone technology.
- Provide treatment or growth support in specific areas as and when required.
- Observe and manage crop return so that per hectare yield can be balanced and predicted.
- Focus growth strategy so that better economics in crop returns result.
We have established exciting partnerships to deliver our objectives.
Combating Nematodes
Bioteq has experience in the management of nematodes or plant parasites. These are multi-cellular animals, which occur in abundance and tend to feed on bacteria, fungi, protozoans and other nematodes. At the head of a plant-parasitic nematode is a hollow mouth spear (like a hypodermic needle) called a stylet. This stylet punctures plant cells, to withdraw food and also to secrete protein and metabolites that aid the nematode in parasitizing the plant.
It is estimated that the damage caused by nematodes alone destroys the equivalent amount of food that could feed 600 million people annually. Current toxic insecticides no longer effective in the treatment of nematodes. The application of Bioteq’s Fulvic Acid has proved effective in combatting the encroachment of nematodes in various crops.
These include the following:
- Endo-parasites
- Fungal Infections
- Fruit Black Spot
- Bacterial Infections
- Virus Infections
- Margarodes and Homoptera (scales)
- Eco- friendly Bacteria, Enzymes and Micro-Organisms
- Metabolites, Hormones and Enzymes
- Improved Plant Nutrition
Testimonial
"During in vitro pilot experiments, liposomes filled with antinematodal compounds adversely affected the motility of second-stage juveniles (J2) of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita. Furthermore, video material that showed how liposomes, containing antinematodal compounds, were able to move through the cuticle of M. incognita eggs in particular is exciting since this life stage of plant-parasitic nematodes is particularly difficult to eradicate. The ability of the antinematodal compounds to destroy the content of such eggs as well as J2, which were suspended in the liposome solution, suggests that this technology should be investigated further and has definite potential to reduce numbers of such pests remarkably."
